(Can't believe Sam, Bucky & co got me in my feelings so much that I'm making what is essentially an LJ post in the year 2021 but times are strange indeed.)

Here's my mostly stream-of-consciousness thoughts I jotted down right after watching

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier 1x01

The fact that "(birds chirping)" was the very first caption on this show 😊💯

Sam saying "What's up?" reminded me immediately of this excellent gifset

Sam bb why do you not think yourself worthy or capable of handling the responsibility of the shield, I know it's a lot but you're too good and we need you, babe =(

Bucky with flowers for his date??????? Bucky going on a date with an ASIAN GIRL???????? 😍😍😍 (who btw was awesome on The Terror S2, she was a badass and I loved her). Complicated story, I know, but these simple facts delighted me. It was one of those "do white people feel like this all the time??" feelings. I hate to invoke She Who Must Not Be Named (especially since this crashed and burned) but it's the same extremely pleasantly surprised feeling I got when finding out Harry had a crush on Cho. There's just a unique and rare feeling when fandom's beloved white boy takes interest in a woman of colour that I can't explain to anyone who isn't in the same boat. And after this week in particular, it's such a small thing, the bar is so very low, but I needed that. Thanks for being a sweetheart, Buck. ❤

Oh, poor, sweet Buck. Seeing him smile through the pain and just keep trying but not getting very far made my heart ache. I'm so glad he's getting help and I so hope his arc in this show gives him the peace he wants and deserves

This grounded shit in Sam's storyline SUSTAINS ME. Money problems? Fixing the boat problems? This is why Spidey is my first big superhero love, the normality and relatability of his RL problems. This is extremely my jam.

I tried studying the credits for clues. Def seems like they're doing the Red, White & Black storyline 👀 (it said "subject" on the paper next to that older Black man -- so Isaiah??). Also Bucky's trigger words were there and the date he killed Tony's parents 😬🚫 God I hope that doesn't come into play again. Or if it does I hope it doesn't work bc Bucky's properly deprogrammed. And there was graffiti of a Cap shield with a fuse next to USAsshat just to confirm we all know how this is gonna go with him

So my initial response to Torres was "I hope he's trustworthy bc his fanboying over Sam is the cutest thing" but I have come to learn this information from the comics and now I ADORE HIM FULLY

I just remembered Bucky and the lucky cat 😂 You're not gonna stop that thing, Buck, don't even try, just accept it.

The concept of Steve on the moon amused me for comics reasons, but also I just pictured he just fucked off up there like Dr. Manhattan, like the man is just completely "fuck earth 2023 altogether" lmao
