Childhood Living
A Harry/Hermione mix through the years

For a while now I've wanted to do a Harry/Hermione mix that outlined their relationship per book, and now that Deathly Hallows is done, I was finally able to complete it. Some of these songs could be applied to H/Hr's relationship in general, but I tried to match them up as best I could with the individual book it was meant to correspond with.

I'll warn you, this mix is slightly spoilery for Deathly Hallows and is intended to imply a romantic reltionship between Harry and Hermione. Please don't put down the ship cause I'm a H/Hr-shipper till the end, and I'll eat your head.

With all the goings-on regarding the attack on Muggle-borns, everyone thinks Harry has something to do with it because he can speak Parseltongue. It doesn't help that Hermione gets Petrified, too.

Hermione is the only person who could properly deal with CAPSLOCK!Harry, and despite the fact that very few of their classmates believed him that Voldemort was back, she (and Ron) stuck by his side.

H/Hr-ers regard HBP as the plague, but it actually isn't that bad. All the subtleties that we've always picked up are just even more discrete. So it goes without saying that overall, it's the unspoken moments in this book that keep the H/Hr flame glowing. A case in point: Slughorn's party where Harry notices that Hermione is distraught, pre-"canary scene."

The Trio were living on their own for half of this book, and thus they had to grow up fast in such dire circumstances as these. Hermione stayed with Harry even when Ron stormed off, and I think that's a testament to how strong their relationship is, whether it be romantic or platonic.

First of all the coverart, breath taking. Especially the 'single' ones. Just wow.

Secondly the song choices are brilliant, I never realized how much of a H/Hr song 'I'll Stand By You' was until just then. Wow.

I also LOVE the concept. Like one song for each book. It really suits their relationship at said time.

'I'll Stand By You' definitely is a perfect H/Hr song. I saw it used on a H/G mix in the time between when I thought of the concept/picked songs for this mix and the time I actually got around to posting it, and in my head I was like, "..... nope. *shakes head*"

TOTALLY. I found that a couple months ago and couldn't believe it's awesomeness. As a general user's tip, if you can't find the song you're looking for, search it by artist and then find the song in the album discography list. I couldn't find "Help!" at first and I knew that had to be on there cause it's the freaking Beatles. ;)

Oooh yes, I do love The Fray. Unsaid is probably my favourite of theirs, so all the more reason for me to fit it into this mix.

oh, this is just perfect! as the canon-whore that i am, this came amazingly close to how i perceive their relationship to be in the books (the pretenders for OotP: brilliant!). and your artwork is GORGEOUS-- i especially like the one for book 6 (not looking at each other but still side by side, completely evocative) and of course, for DH (total squeeage over the pumpkins being all huggy by the kissing gate).
